It was a good trade for them...but they still stink.

Just an aside Jimmy:

Recall a couple years back when you and others were touting the rise of the Coyotes lead by the up and coming young superstars Domi and Duclair and I told you they both stink? You argued so hard that I was wrong...

As anyone would have been, I was extremely excited about the Coyotes having Domi and Duclair. I still think Duclair was wasted by two coaches who wanted nothing to do with him despite his penchant for driving play.

Domi was going to be a superstar and I bought in 100% on that. But he is a one dimensional scorer who doesn't score. And his awful personality rubbed me the wrong way constantly. I soured on him, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend I always thought both were bad players.

I wish Duclair was still a Coyote, though it's hard to argue with the play of Panik so far. As for Domi, he clearly needed out of here. I hope he grows up a bit and has a successful career. The things he can do with a puck are spectacular.

But Galchenyuk? That's an intriguing return and I love where this team is headed.

I said before they played in the nhl...Duclair is a skilled player but is dumb and selfish. No hockey iq. Domi is a douche.

Looks like I was right again on all fronts...it’s ok you can admit I was right and you were wrong.

What am I supposed to do? Love a player unconditionally and uncritically? Unlike some people I could name, I change my mind when I get new information. I also admit when I was wrong.

I thought Domi was going to be a superstar and near franchise level player.

I was wrong.

But I'm not going to keep loving a guy long after it's clear he's no good?

A foolish consistency is the hoggoblin of the mind.

let's see how much you love him once he starts giving away the puck a thousand time a game.

Not about right and wrong; to me at least. Though glad to see you can admit domi not hay good.

What cracks me up is how u are all over almost every Arizona players jock and the ones they acquire. You just prop them up way to much. In your eyes they are all stars.

On paper I like this move for Arizona

That isn't true at all. I spent three years ripping every move Don Maloney made. John Chayka just happens to make good trades.

Hey Tanner remember when you loved Domi and called him the biggest steal of his draft? Peppridge Farm remembers

I don't think the Capitals will be repeating. I'd bet you Arizona finishes higher in the standings though.

Sometimes. He hits some dingers but he also has quite a few strike outs. Hes a decent GM but he is not the wonder kid that they NHL once heralded when he was first on the job

Do results factor into your decision or is it 100% paper theory?

Of course I do. What's your point? That I'm supposed to have undying love for a hockey player who was an extreme bust?

I currently think Clayton Keller is going to be superstar. But in four years, maybe he gets traded for Alex Nylander (who I currently think might bust out) and I love the trade.

Would you rather read the safe down-the-middle non-rantings of someone concerned with looking measured and never being wrong? If so, sportsnet has an article up right now that says its too early to judge a winner here.

It isn't.

The Coyotes won. (Makes D Generation X crotch chop!!) (in the direction of safe and measured writers, not the commenter).

I listed every single trade he's made in this blog. Please tell me which ones were bad. He's hit multiple home runs (Hammer, Chychrun, Galchenyuk, Raanta) and made zero bad trades. Even the ones that didn't work out (Crouse) were worthwhile low-risk gables.

Name me one GM with a better set of trades since May of 2016.

Disagree as u love almost every player but no biggie

On papers moves don’t equate to good moves in the ice. Crouse is one example. He has been a bust so far. In both leagues.

On paper that moved looked great. Maybe Florida realized they messed up and moved him at first chance. Not saying it was a bad move but isn’t great. Even chyrun. He isn’t nor will be a franchise dman. That was a hockey trade not a fleecing like u always make it out to be. Be funny if in 4 years or so the guy Detroit took ends up being better.

Let’s see what the genius GM can do when the pressure is on.

I like bets.

Arizona finishes the same or worse and you write a blog love letter devoted to me.

Arizona finishes higher in the standings than previous year and I will run naked down South Street yelling "Tanner is..." followed by a bunch of compliments.

Results matter James. No one will care about any moves until and if they start to win.

Also please don’t give us the they played well last 1/4 of the year. It’s meaningless really. Though u will disagree no doubt.

Also Demers isn’t a top pairing dman. The Chicago trade was a steal either. That’s all ur opinion.

You can argue that the Stepan Raanta trades is so so right now. 7th overall is a step price to pay if you dont make the playoffs by getting older and more expensive. have to wait for Andersson to play in the NHL to see if thats a "steal" of a trade.

I like the Hammer deal as long as he stays healthy this season

the Darcy Kuemper deal is odd considering how Raanta resigned.

He just makes so many small volume trades feels like he burns through late draft picks like they are meaningless

Anthony DeAngelo for a 2nd round pick just to send him off with the 7th overall in the Stepan deal.
Holland for a 6th
Crouse for a 3rd
Giving up any value for Kruger
Wedgewood for a 5th
Cousins for a 5th

Like I said its so so, some straight dingers, some that are scratching your head wondering are they just making a trade for the sake of making a trade while not getting any better

Listening to NHL radio. They made an interesting take on it: Subban, Sergachev, and Galchenyuk for Weber, Drouin and Domi. The one for ones. Ouch. MB has supplanted Chia as pooptiest GM in the league.

Buddy, everything I write is my opinion. Its not a fact that the Coyotes just demoed the Habs, but it seems like one to me! This blog is an editorial!

I agree that results matter. If the Coyotes don't become a perennial contender from now to the next four or five years, it will turn out that Chayka isn't who I thought he is. But for now, based on HOW I THINK the future will turn out, I think he's done great. You are right though, only time will tell.
